Error Analisis Tara

A Horrible Hotel
There is a terrible hotel in an old city. The hotel is located far from residential area. From the outside looks so terrible. The rooms are small.  The rooms are dark. The rooms are dirty. There is no air conditioning. The rooms are hot in summer. There is no heating. The rooms are cold in winter. There are big windows. The view is terrible. The facilities are so bad, right?. That is very uncomfortable.
The service is also not satisfactory. Almost the servants not being friendly. If we want to order food, we need to go downstairs to order it yourself. Because there is no telephone in the room. The waiter deliver the food is so very long. And worsely, the food was awful, taste so bland. That is why I want to warn you never to stay in that hotel.

A Horrible Hotel
(The right form)

There is a terrible hotel in an old city. The hotel is located far from residential area. From the outside, it looks so terrible. The rooms are small, dark, and dirty. There is no air-conditioning, so the rooms are hot in summer. Besides that, there is no heater so the rooms are cold in winter. There are big windows but the view is terrible. By here, I conclude that the facilities are so bad, aren’t they? The hotel is uncomfortable.
The service is also not satisfactory. Almost all of the servants are not friendly. If we want to order the food, we need to go downstairs to order it by ourselves. Due to the inexistence of telephone in the room, the food needs long time to be delivered. Worse, the food taste is so bland. That is why I want to warn you to never stay in that hotel.

Omission is considered to be the absence of an item that should appear in a well-formed utterance. Next, we will mention sentence that included to the omission:
  1. From the outside looks so terrible. There is some error sentence because the students omitted the subject pronoun "It" before the verb “looks”. As we know that, there is any rule that after pronoun he, she, it, we have to add “s” in our verb.
  2. There is no air conditioning. The rooms are hot in summer. It errors because between the first sentence with the second sentence is not connected so we have to add word “so” between them. Such as the right answer is There is no air-conditioning, so the rooms are hot in summer”
  3. There is no heating. The rooms are cold in winter. It has same error with the previous sentence that I have told you.
  4. There are big windows. The view is terrible. The student omitted word “but” and this is make the first sentence and the second sentence is not connected because between two sentence is about comparing. The right answer is “There are big windows but the view is terrible”
Addition is considered to be the presence of an item that should not appear in a well-formed utterance. This is the sentence that included to the addition:
  1. The rooms are small.  The rooms are dark. The rooms are dirty. There is any addition in the words “The rooms” in each of adjective word. The right answer is The rooms are small, dark, and dirty”
  2. And worse, the food was awful, taste so bland. It is included in addition because in front of word “worse” there is any addition word “and” and then between “the food” and “the taste” there is any addition “was awful” whereas “awful” and “bland” almost has the same meaning so we don’t need “awful” word. The right answer is  Worsely, the food taste is so bland
Misinformation is considered to be the use of the wrong form of the morpheme or structure. Example:
  1. If we want to order food, we need to go downstairs to order it yourself. These errors are the result of the lack of English vocabulary, and the wrong use of the meanings provided by the dictionary. Because in this sentence firstly say “we” as the subject but in the last the student say “yourself” this is the wrong form of the structure. The right answer is “If we want to order the food, we need to go downstairs to order it by ourselves”
  2. Almost the servants not being friendly. It is error because in this sentence the student uses future tense whereas the student talks about this hotel to us when it is happening at the time of he/she speaking so the student must be use present continuous. The right answer is  Almost all of the servants are not friendly”
  3. Because there is no telephone in the room. The waiter deliver the food is so very long. it is error because the grammar of this sentence is wrong. We know the mean of this sentence but the grammar is wrong. The right answer is Due to the inexistence of telephone in the room, the food needs long time to be delivered”
  4. There is no heating. The rooms are cold in winter. It is included to the speech error because The first one is "heating" instead of "heater".
Misordering is considered to be the incorrect placement of a morpheme or group of morphemes in an utterance, such as :
  1. The facilities are so bad, right? That is very uncomfortable. There is any incorrect placement of a morpheme the evidenced is in the use of "right?" instead of "aren’t they?" the question tag of this sentence is incorrect because if you want to make a question tag you should to add something in front of word “right?” like “is it right?”. And then the incorrect placement again in the use of “that” instead of “the hotel”, the student use “that is very uncomfortable” is ambiguity. “That” in here can be the hotel, the facility and etc. Because of that we make it clear by use “the hotel”. The right answer is By here, I conclude that the facilities are so bad, aren’t they? The hotel is uncomfortable”
